The first encounter with the destroyer happened but the depth charges didn't even come close to the sub, same with the surface attack on the convoy U-96 was fired at but was not hit nor did any depth charges come close either, last the famous Gibraltar scene actually happened but no where near the extent to what is portrayed in the movie U-96 was attacked by a swordfish sustained minor damage and returned home. To be more specific. :DDD Though the Book Das Boot was amazing I'll give him that.

one of the best submarine movies ever made, not filld with that stinking heroism bullshit, and shitty storyline that most of the hollywood made submarine movies are filld with. :D
