I uploaded this when I saw that noone has this song upload on youtube.Its the version from the"monsoon"ablum.The song's about the Sullivan brothers. BIO:Thomas and Alleta Sullivan gave up their5sons in a WW2to a tragedy that has never been forgotten.Sullivan,a freight conductor on the Illinois Central Railroad, and his wife were the proud parents of George-27,Francis-25,Joseph-23,Madison- 22,and Albert-19,all of whom worked at Waterloo's Rath Packing Co.Only Al was married,with a son.When Pearl Harbor was bombed on12/7/1941,and1of their pals died, the lads decided to enlist in the Navy. George and Frank had already served1hitch. Although it was Navy policy to separate brothers, the Sullivans enlisted on1/3/1942,with the provision that they stay together.Their deaths came during a ferocious enemy attack off the Solomon Islands during the battle for Guadalcanal on11/13/1942.A torpedo from a Japanese sub struck the USS Juneau and the ship exploded and sank quickly.Almost700men aboard died in the attack.11 survived.Witnesses later said Frank,Joe,and Matt died instantly and that Albert drowned the 2nd day.A badly wounded George was able to climb aboard a life raft and survive4-5days before slipping into shark-infested waters. I have relatives from WWII, but don't be racist about it please. I'm also part German and the Nazi party was a great evil. But not all German soldiers were Nazis by heart.

Caroline Spine is out of Tulsa and were very big in their day where I come from in Oklahoma...I got to see them perform this song and others at Edgefest 1998....it was awesome!!!!

I was 10 years Infantry bro. Here's some advice for you. Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than you are. Professionals are predictable, but the world is full of amateurs. No plan ever surivives first contact INtact. And, last but not least, try to look unimportant, the bastards may be low on ammo! Seriously though, Alpha-Mike-Foxtrot. Bring it home in one piece.

This song is truly amazing. Caroline's Spoine was in Waterloo for the grand opening of the 5 Sullivan brothers convention center and played this song and everybody including myself knew that this band was serious not just writing a song for the money.

I am constantly amazed by this song, Carolines Spine has played mannnny shows in my old hometown of LaCrosse, heard the song afew hundred times, it was only later that i joined the Marine Corp that i researched the whole story. tragic doesnt explain it enough, and this song sets an excellent pace for telling a part of their story. Semper Fidelis!

One of the best songs ever written. I saw it live several years ago. When it gets slow, the whole place got dark. All sparked up with lighters. Such a good show.
