Dudes!!!! This is an ancient song like they all are. Carl just did his thing, but that gold Gibson and guitar work in 1955/56 were like Page in 74 or whomever now!

Matchbox was NOT written by Perkins but based on a song by Blind Lemon Jefferson. Perkins was one of the greatest guitarplayers from those days!

Perkins was good but he wasnt better than elvis. He admitted that himself that in his words he was " lucky to be in the game".

Damn right!
loveclevelandohio (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Exactly. Nobody did Matchbox better than he did.
SwampDaddy7 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
That's cause in the Rock N' Roll world, he did it first. It was an old Delta Blues tune Carl hopped up to be a Rockabilly hit.
