Oddly, you can get this on Region 2 DVD but not Region 1. Hopefully soon it will be released.

I remember my Mum recording this onto vhs at New Year 1984 or 5 and it being the most played video in our house.... 28 now and I still love it. Oh for the DVD....

You can only get this version in VHS. They haven't made it for DVD yet, and trust me, I've looked EVERYWHERE. They do have a stage version with Kevin Kline in it for DVD though.

I have been looking for this movie on Dvd but no luck! I am a big fan of Anglea Lansbury and I feel that compared with some of the other singers from the golden age of Hollywood she does not get the respect she deserves for her work. I would really love it if the whole movie was posted on youtube!

When you have seen all of the versions of this on Youtube and on stage and on DVD you always end up coming back to this version as the very best one every performed. Kline's ludicrously over the top Pirate King's outrageous movements are the cherry on the cake.

i've known this since i was 4yrs old.. and it stil is, for me, one of the best pieces of direction and choreography i've seen!
